I haven't been able to find specifics on the aft docking port of the Mir Kvant-1 module.

As I understand it, the Mir Base Block had an Igla docking system at the aft docking port where Kvant-1 docked. I know it docked to this port using an Igla... somewhat problematically.

However, was the aft port originally equipped with an Igla, Kurs, or both? I know the manned Soyuz TM-3 docked with Kvant-1 not long after it was attached to Mir, which would lead me to believe it had a Kurs system from the beginning. However, a large number of Progress 7K-TG ferrys also docked there which were originally equipped with an Igla and I haven't found any sources that say the 7K-TG were upgraded with Kurs.

I also know that in 1991, EVAs were performed to replace/repair a damaged Kurs antenna on Kvant-1, so it had one by then.

So my questions is...which system (or systems) did Kvant-1 have on its aft port when it arrived at Mir in 1987?

On both sides? It did for sure on its forward port because the Core Module did on its aft port. But what about the aft port of Kvant-1?

Actually, I figured it out. Mir Hardware Heritage page 162:
Rear port features Igla and Kursrendezvous and docking systems. Front port features Igla only; it was used for initial docking with the rear port of the Mir baseblock. After docking in 1987, the front port Kvant antenna wasfolded down, its work done.
I was not familiar with this reference. Thank you for pointing it out to me.
