What's the best site for up to date photos of shuttle missions?

I only know of NASA's Human Spaceflight Gallery.

thanks, Stefan

Depending on when you check, there are three different areas on two websites where new pictures may appear first. All three eventually (usually) sync with each other, but if you are really after the very latest of the latest, check:
  1. Space Shuttle Multimedia on NASA.gov
  2. Human Space Flight Gallery (the same site as linked above), this is the index page that provides access to galleries that are sorted by flight days.
  3. Shuttle Mission Imagery - (STS-122 used as an example) The same same as no. 2 but with all the photos grouped into one gallery. Sometimes images appear here first before they are sorted into their daily galleries.
Of course, it should also be mentioned that for the latest launch and landing images (or at least many more than you will find at the above three sites), you should see KSC's Media Archive.

And sometimes, just sometimes, an international partner beats NASA at posting its own photos...

I am looking for some decent looking video footage of various space missions (mostly STS and ISS). I want to use them in order to show and excite the young students at our astronomy center.

What I have now are the NASA HD clips and some I have downloaded from the NASA Human Spaceflight website.

I have been in contact with the Media Resource Center at the Johnson Space Center but with little success. I am also considering subscribing to the Spaceflight Now PLUS service - do they have those clips at high quality?

You might want to try www.space-multimedia.nl.eu.org. They have links to a selection of hi-res video, as well as links to a large amount of broadcast video in you-tube format. STS-115 seems to be the furthest back they go, but from there onwards all STS/ISS missions are covered.

Thank you! looks great, I'm now waiting for the STS-122 highlights to DL. Any idea where could there be such clips of STS-107? most importantly of Ilan Ramon?

All times are CT (US)
