NASA busy ahead of shuttle launch 6 missions planned in next 12 months to meet Bush deadlineI don't like the idea of flying shuttles because there's a schedule to be met. The last time NASA tried to have such schedule was back in 1985... needless how it ended the following year. Let's have our fingers crossed... Chris. |

1985 saw 9 launches in 12 months and 11 launches in 13 months.Flying six times in one year has been done and surpassed many times; there were six flights in 2001 last. There were several years in the 1990s that saw 6, 7 and 8 missions flying; some were just two weeks apart. While they are trying to meet the schedule, I believe it can be done successfully and safely. And I'm sure they will stand down if there are problems to be fixed, as has been evident over the past two years. | |
