I've been reading a NASA Management Instruction (NMI) and while it's pretty obvious that it describes a particular policy/process/procedure/etc, I'm still not sure what an NMI is. Does anyone know its purpose? Its level of authority? |

An outdated documentation replaced by NASA Policy Directives and NASA Procedural Requirements. |

Thanks Jim! So an NMI would have just been a format to document decisions that had been made and agreed upon by NASA headquarters? This particular NMI was eventually added to the Federal Register (with a few additions). |

No, it was to document processes (i.e instructions).
