Most living outside Canada will not likely know who Jay Ingram is. For the last 16 years he has hosted the science and technology show Daily Planet on Discovery Channel Canada. Tonight was his last show.

There is no greater advocate for NASA and Canadian Space Agency in Canada than Jay Ingram. He covered all of the launches and landings that Canadian astronauts were involved in and always made sure the space program had ample coverage on Daily Planet, one of the few shows in Canada where in depth reporting on the space program can be found.

Tonight astronaut Dave Williams presented a framed set of photos signed by all of the Canadian Astronauts and also presented him with a flown mission patch from STS-90.

Jay Ingram will be working in the field as a reporter doing special projects, but will be badly missed on Daily Planet next season. As I said, the Canadian Space Agency and NASA has no better friend than Jay Ingram.

A daily show... five days a week. He worked with several cohosts through these years, too. Kudo, Jay!

All times are CT (US)
