The Tennesean: NASA replaces man's mementos lost in apartment fire
Brady Morris escaped the Dec. 29 blaze that burned his Nashville apartment to the ground with nothing but his pajamas and his dog, Gabby.

He was pictured in The Tennessean the next day, sitting in a hotel room and kissing an anxious-looking Gabby on the head. Of all the things he lost, he said, the only one he cared about was the autographed picture of the space shuttle crew that fixed the Hubble Space Telescope and a patch from the mission.

After NASA officials read the article, they promised to replace those prize possessions. And on Friday, they made good, sending retired astronaut Tom Akers to give Morris the picture and patch, plus a poster, on Friday at O'Charley's Inc. headquarters in Nashville, Morris' employer.

All times are CT (US)
