Jimmy Brown's STS-123 launch shot is one of 12 pictured on the National Geographic site. Voters can score each photo on a 1-10 scale. It takes 30 seconds. Help Jimmy out and vote for the best photograph. |

It's a bit underhanded but you can help even more by scoring other photos as a 1. |

I certainly voted for Jimmy's shot. That has to be one of the greatest launch photos I have ever seen. |

Thanks everyone. There is always the chance it could be published in NG magazine. I appreciate all the votes. |

Maybe I didn't look close enough, but how do you know which end of the scale is best? Does 1 or 10 denote a top score? |

I believe 10 is the top rating. |

Next week, voting will continue with new images for that week. You will still be able to see the photos from this week, and the first 2 weeks of the month, but you will only be able to vote on the pictures that are current for that week. Keep voting low ratings for the rest. It'll still help. |

I have fallen behind tonight to a flower. If it'll let you vote, please help out. Ask friends and family to do the same. Help get the 123 launch in NG. |

One more week of voting left. I am currently in second place, and if I can hold on for one more week, the photo may be published. Please, continue to vote. I appreciate everyone that has already taken the time to vote. I'm losing to a photo of a weed (can you believe that?) |

Just 2 more days left in the voting. Please continue to vote on the current photos. Give them all a 1. I'm still holding on to second place, so there is a chance the 123 launch photo could end up in NG magazine. |

I agree that the launch photo is an awesome shot, one of the most unique I've seen, and I had no problem voting for it with the highest rating. However (and feel free to call me whatever names any of you please), something really strikes me in the wrong way about deliberately "voting down" other folks' photos with the lowest rating regardless of their merits. Maybe I'm alone in that--if so, sorry. |

No, you're not alone.I gave the photo a 10 because it's a beautiful shots. But I also gave 6-7 to other shots which I thought were just as beautiful -and that somewhat "departed" from the traditional type of pictures you can find in the magazine (one of the reasons I stopped being a member: it seems that after a while, identical/similar topics and photos show up at regular intervals...). |

I am absolutely in agreement with you. I agree that this launch photograph is wonderful and certainly at the upper end of the voting scale. However, I find it disagreeable to be advised to vote down other pictures which in my view merit a 10 grading. Accordingly I have given them the grading I think they justifiably deserve. |
