Looks like the 2 STS-116 crew mwmbers that dispalyed their favorite teams in the white room before launch last month will go head to head in the Superbowl.
Joan Higginbotham had a "Go Bears" sign and Bob Curbeam had a sign rooting on the Colts.

I'm surprised Curbeam wants the Colts. He's from Baltimore and most people here hate the Colts because they sneacked (snuk)out of town in the middle of snowy night. The city woke up to find out there was no longer a football team. I knew people who worked for the Colts who didn't know they left. When they went to work they couldn't even get on the grounds. The city still has not gotten over it. (22 years later) I was supposed to work with them. G.M. Ernie Accorsi, a friend left the team, two weeks later the team was gone. I hope the Colts win.

Clearly, Joan is far cooler than Bob.

From Scripps Howard News Service:
quote:
It's that time of year again — time for the annual gridiron spectacle. No, not the Super Bowl, but the 18th annual Scripps Howard Celebrity Super Bowl Poll. The rich and famous from movies, TV, music, sports, politics and pop culture predict the winner of Sunday's Super Bowl between the Chicago Bears and the Indianapolis Colts.

Keep an eye on the final score. The celebrity who picks the winning team and comes closest to predicting the score will win the Scripps Howard Super Sage Award trophy...

  • Buzz Aldrin, astronaut: Colts, 28-17. The Colts have more horse power. Besides, I'd rather have lucky horseshoes on the mantle than a bear's claw.
  • Chuck Yeager, first man to break the sound barrier: Colts, 21-14. Peyton Manning is my favorite quarterback.

Penn & Teller won the Super Sage award thanks to their pinpoint prediction in Scripps Howard's 18th annual Celebrity Super Bowl Poll. Penn & Teller, astronaut Buzz Aldrin and Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps all guessed that the Colts would win, 28-17, just one point off the actual score of 29-17. Penn & Teller won the Super Sage Award after a coin flip.
