And for all you English and your henchpersons, "Favourite".

What's your favo(u)rite movie comedy scene? Mine is the part in Dr. Strangelove where the people in the War Room realize General Turgidson actually intends to lead a prayer.

So what's yours? It doesn't have to be an Outer Space movie, or even a comedy, but it does have to be a deliberate comedy scene, and it's the movies, not TV. Or telly.

(And remind me to curse the English for the time I was a kid and had my first English car. I followed the book carefully, including the part where I had to soak my carbutettor in paraffin. Except over here that WAX, fellas. Geez. The Logoci brothers never let me forget.)

#2..Rodney Dangerfield's golf shot in "Caddyshack" that hits Ted Knight right in the nutsack.." I should'a yelled TWO!!"

#1.. The whole opening sequence of "Ace Ventura, Pet Detective" where he's delivering the FRAGILE package disguised as a delivery person.

Hands down, the funniest scene in all of movie history is the one at the dinner table in Eddie Murphy's "The Nutty Professor." You know ... the one with "Hercules, Hercules" and the cleansed colon.

I'm laughing just thinking about it.

The funniest movie of all time, though, is "Grumpier Old Men." The scene where Max (Walter Matthau) first expresses his interest in Maria (Sophia Loren) is absolutely priceless ... "I'd rather kiss a dead moose's butt." And then, "SPEAK FOR YOURSELF!!!"

No TV here, remember. But we can do TV in another thread. And if you like Seinfeld, did you ever see the "Curb Your Enthusiasm" episode with Thor the pro wrestler?

In terms of pure farce here are a few classic scenes:

Return of the Pink Panther - Clouseau tries to infiltrate the Swiss hotel room of Sir Charles Lytton's wife disguised as a hotel worker. Loved this one as a kid.

Something About Mary - the scene where Matt Dillon is trying to resuscitate the dog.

The Naked Gun - Frank Drebin in the office of Ludwig at night as he slowly destroys the entire office.

... and my all-time favourite:

Hot Shots! Part Deux - Charlie Sheen and pals are in a bamboo cage. The guard is asleep a few feet away with the keys on the desk beside him. He tries to reach the keys with a wooden pole without waking he guard...

I've got to agree with Rick about the dinner scene in Nuttiest Professor. I laugh so hard I hyperventilate!

Grandma talking about Mike Douglas - priceless!!!
