Hi,

I am on Holiday next week, and with tenative shuttle launch, I was trying to plan a visit to ksc for the launch.

The cheapest economy flight I have found is over £1000 ($1750), even at short notice. Does anyone know where I can get a flight for the normal price of around £350 ?

Does anyone know why are prices are so high this August ?

Paul.

It's the short notice that's the problem. Under the pricing schemes adopted by all the airlines, the cheap fares are for those who book early, and the prices rise as the departure dates approach, because business travelers typically book on short notice and must fly, so they're willing to pay more (a lot more). Sometimes you can get a cheap "fill-up" or standby fare if there are empty seats, but load factors have been very high lately on all the transatlantic carriers, so that likely won't work. If you're flexible, keep calling BA/Virgin/United as Tuesday approaches and see if they open up some seats more within your budget. Good luck...you may find something.

Try the bucket shops who advertise in newspapers on Saturdays/saundays travel sections,

Hi Paul.
Try Gatwick Airport-theres a FLIGHT SHOP
in the North Terminal, also one in the South./it was still there in June-when I came back from Florida,a friend found a good bargin to MCO- last week at this place.
As you have a very wide choice of Airlines, to choice from, mainly cancellations, see what you find-might as well give it a go---
Pop down there -not far from where you live.
Best of luck
regards from Brenda.
ps= although I live on the IOM-I go through
Gatwick alot,so do friends,and find a bargin

All times are CT (US)
