Dan Barry and Story Musgrave worked with Disney to develop the ride. Buzz Aldrin rode it. Wally Schirra, Jim Lovell, Bruce McCandless, Mae Jemison, Roberta Bondar, and Guion Bluford were all present for the grand opening ceremony.

" . . . astronauts that have rode . . ."

For godssake can't we recast that as

Mike,

Sorry. I'm incorrigible. I corrected my husband's grammar while he toasted me at our wedding reception. Not loudly, mind you. But loud enough to make my friend Michele, standing nearby, laugh out loud.

Carpenter reports he and the other Mercury astronauts were present for the Orlando debut of Space Mountain. They were told at the time that the cost of building the ride "surpassed the original cost of building Disnelyand itself."

He's heard of Mission Space but hasn't ridden it.
