Hello all- I plan to take my girlfriend on a "spacey" vacation soon. She knows very little about our hobby.I would like to get your thoughts on which is the best destination. KSC, JSC, Kansas Cosmos. or a different venue I am not thinking of? I am leaning toward KSC because of the proximity to Disney etc as well as the Astro HOF. As far as sites, scenes, location, memorabilia what would you all vote on? Thanks all- Jay |

Thought about arranging your trip to come down and see Atlantis launch in September? Whether your girlfriend's a fan or not, that's something both of you won't forget! If you choose KSC/AHOF, put aside two full days as not to be rushed. |

For the first time out for someone who knows nothing about it, take her to KSC/AHOF..I think that's the best place to expose someone for the first time..do the astronaut encounter, the up close tour, the ahof, but as the previous person said, allow two full days..there's alot to see.. |

Gotta do my obligatory bit for the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville. http://spacecamp.com/ Don't know that there's as much here as at KSC, but it's a great deal for the money, and there are a few things here they don't have -- including a fully stacked Shuttle and, most notably of course, a vertical full-scale Saturn V model. ------------------ http://allthese worlds.hatbag.net/space.php "America's challenge of today has forged man's destiny of tomorrow." - Commander Eugene Cernan, Apollo 17 Mission, 11 December 1972 |
