after the death toll has almost doubled to 100.000 since my original announcement last night I have the very small pleasure to announce that the cash amount has also doubled and we are now over $2000 collected by Collectspace Readers and Spaceflori clients from sales on spaceflori.com within 24 hours.
(and this doesn't include my personal contribution yet)

Our tour operator has given the ok, so we will be flying down there next week with as much luggage as we can carry with immediate aid articles such as gloves, masks, simple medicine (as far as customs allow).

I have received email confirmation from our hotel down there with some advice what to bring, so we are sure that we can personally deliver the aid to those in need. Apparently several employee's families are directly affected.
