Here are a couple of shots of the CM's progress so far. It is about %80 completed. I thought I would take a couple of photos to give a better indication of scale. http://gerathsdesign.com/TempNet/055.jpg http://gerathsdesign.com/TempNet/056.jpg As you can see, the hatch is nearly completed and has been given its Mylar tape covering. Soon the heat shield skirt around the bottom edge will be installed. The HS will not be a complete one but instead will curve down and under about 1 to 1.5 feet. This will allow the CM replica to sit on castor wheels (like it is now) and will be mobile, but the HS skirt will give the impression of a heat shield underneath the craft. Dana

Dana,That is one exemplary job you're doing, and like many others I can't wait to see the finished product. Well done! Colin |

Hey Dana,I think you need to call Burt Rutan & Company to see if they would build something to go under that great lookin' CM so you can put that thing to work! Best, Bruce |

The amazing thing is how you dug the 300+ foot deep hole under your driveway to put the Saturn V that the CM is sitting on! Great job on this project...!------------------ Jake Schultz - curator, Newport Way Air Museum (OK, it's just my home) | |
