I am a member of Collect Space and the Space Unit of the ATA/APS. I want to organize meetings for both venues. Napex is held on June 4-6, 2004 and Balpex is held September 3-5, 2004. I have contacted the show chairmen of both shows for possible meeting times. I would like to gauge interest from Collect Space members alot of whom are Space Unit members. Please e-mail me offlist if interested in attending these meetings so I can tell if I should finalize arrangements. I hope to see and meet a lot of you.

I want to also invite any Collect Space members who are attending the shows to attend. Meetings are open to all. If anybody has any questions, feel free to email me at johnmacco007@earthlink.net. Put collectspace as subject line. Hope to hear from you.

Good question steve. Napex is held in McClean, Va and Balpex is held in Hunt Valley, Md. Both shows are annual events.

An update on the above mentioned Space Unit meetings. I have been contact with the show officials of each exhibition. I am awaiting final schedules for both shows. When I get that information, I'll pass it on to you on this forum.

Update on Napex Space Unit Meeting- The Space Unit meeting will be held on June 5, 2004 from 3-5 PM in the Jackson Room. Sample copies of our journal the Astrophile will be given out to prospective members. Any Collect space members who are planning to attend the meeting look for the dud with the blue Space Unit cap on and come up and introduce yourself. I hope to see a lot of you there. Information on the Balpex meeting is forthcoming. Will advise when received.

I would like to get a rough count on how many cS members may be coming to the Napex Space Unit meeting. We have 2 hours set aside for our meeting and we probably can stay in the room as long as we want being as show closes at I think 5 PM. If you never have been to a Space Unit meeting, I suggest you attend this one not because I organized it but meeting other space collectors and exchanging information and philatelic material makes the hobby come alive to know there are others who collect what you do. So please either post a message on this forum or email me with subject line 'Napex Space Unit meeting'. Thanks and I look forward to meeting you.

Hi John !
We've never met that I remember.....but I remember your space work from previous decades....taking over Inner and Outer Space and successfully publishing it for many years.

Anyway.....what is going on with the SU for the AFDCS convention in Indy this August ??? I did not plan on that last big fling there, but certainly cannot miss this one......

Gene- I do certainly remember you and I still have my copies of Space Primer and The Grand Tour. Have you bought your copies of the Suspect Cover and Apollo CD's that the Space Unit sponsored? I was one of the reviewers for the Apollo CD. In reference to the AFDCS convention, contact Ray Cartier at the ATA website. Maybe you can organize a meeting like I did.
