Hi All:Was surfing channels just now (12:30 AM EDT)and caught a story on the Buzz incident on the John Stewart Show, which I'd never heard of before. Comedy Central interviewed the "fake lunar landing" clown/astronaut stalker, Bart Sibrel. They showed the actual incident, including the verbal battering and insults toward Buzz, then showed the actual punch (nice left cross, Buzz) during an interview with the Sibrel. The coolest thing is that Comedy Central used the story to make Sibrel look like a complete idiot. They supplied a laugh track below his outrageous claims, then hazed him about the punch, asking him, "So did the punch really happen? There were no shadows, Bart. His fist moved this way and your head moved in the opposite direction." Since he claims that the low-G moon video was really slow motion film speed, Comedy Central showed the punch again in slow motion with a caption that read, "Zero-G." The show further suggested to Sibrel that the punch could have been a Hollywood effect, to which Sibrel stammered, "The punch really happened!" Hmmm. He can dish it out, but can't take it. The show finished the story by suggesting that most of recent world history must also have been faked as news footage from famous world events flashed on the screen. They asked, "So, did the Berlin Wall really fall?" Sibrel must have thought he was going into a legitimate interview. Then they treated him the way he treats the astronauts. He looked absolutely ridiculous. Way to go Jon Stewart and Comedy Central! Rob |

I wish I had seen it! Like you said, sounds like the guy can dish it out but can't take it. |

Great clip!! Bart Sibrel got what he deserved. It is beyond me how this man has got away with harrassing Apollo Astronauts for so long. I thought he had gone quiet since Buzz, allegedly punched him, Bart looked lost for words there!! well done Jon Stewart Show. How this man can try to bring great explorers into disrepute is shameful and still he persists.Andrew |

Thanks for the link mmmoo. When she asked Sibrel if if Buzz "really" punched him, or perhaps it was just a hoax - it seemed as if Sibrel really wasn't sure. Poetic Justice |

That was a great show. The Six Million Dollar Man sound effect with Buzz's zero g punch was excellent. As my father-in-law would say, Bart is "six pence shy of a full quid!" [This message has been edited by collshubby (edited October 18, 2002).] |

I saw that clip, it was hilarious. It was nice to see this pud get the same treatment that he's dished out himself. The unsure look on his face when Buzz's punch was described as "faked" was priceless!!!Regards, Bill uzzi69 [This message has been edited by uzzi69 (edited October 19, 2002).] |
