A couple of weeks ago I heard on the news of an asteriod, the size of a football pitch and travelling at 21,000 miles an hour passing the Earth within 75,000 miles. That to me is very close and the astronomers only discovered it 3 days AFTER it passed the Earth. What hope do we have when the BIG one comes!

I believe it was discovered 1 day BEFORE it passed next to Earth ( about 1/3 distance Earth - Moon )
