Having recently graduated from university, my dad was wondering what to get me as a well done keepsake, when he came across an advert in which a guy had bought the moon just after that treaty had been signed by America,Russia,Europe etc saying no one COUNTRY could own it. He has all the authentic legal documents and was selling acre plots off for £25 a time. Im really excieted about the prospect of owning a square of the lunar surface although I havent seen the map to tell me where my plot is yet. But the question is what do I with it? I thought in a couple of years I might set up a small brewery producing "Lunar Beer." In the mean time what should I do if Mr Armstong goes and over shoots his target again and lands on my spot, should I charge him a flat rate, or by the hour, and then there's rubbish, it wont be cheap desposing of that damned decent stage. Answers and suggestions on a postcard....!! Marti. |

I guess the first thing you would need is a survey team to lay out the exact specifications of your plot. They'll walk around with those little pegs and spray paint corner lines. Can you spray paint on the moon? Anyway then you can set up your fence. In the US when we buy a house, that's the first thing they do!! |

Marking your claim on the Moon has hidden benefits . On Earth...spray painting would contribute to destroying the ozone and polluting the atmosphere with CFC's (chloro fluorocarbides). However, on the Moon you would be building an atmosphere and starting a program of re-engineering (terraforming) the Moon in man's image. Make your plot of Moon into a parking lot and spray paint lots of yellow lines and build up that primal, budding atmosphere. Anything is better than a vacuum !!!
