I would personally like to thank Robert Pearlman for allowing Mr. Poor to submit a very well written, and UNBIASED article on the recent FOX network TV special.

There were people I knew as a kid that believed we never went to the moon. Do they pass that on to their now adult children, and so on?
I would hope not!

It would be up to this generation to pass on the truth, even though there are naysayers amongst us!

I think it is very interesting that people think the US faked the moon landings. Wouldn't it be more likely, if any nation was going to do something like that; wouldn't the USSR have at least tried to fake a landing, just to save face? It was a tremendous blow to their national pride to have to admit that they could not land A Cosmonaut on the moon.
I seem to recall that there was some contraversy as to whether Alexi Leonov really did perform the first space walk, because TASS released simulations of Leonov's walk. This was something that our media did as well at the time. We do now recognize that Leonov was indeed first, but there was some confusion about it for a while.
And since so many secrets of the cold war are comming out; and since so many people did work on Apollo. I think a lot more credible people would have fessed up by now. Someone like Deke Slayton might have made a death bed confession. If we were just faking it, why didn't someone like Deke at least get to go to the moon? It sounds like you just needed good makeup, not a good heart. If the "scene" was to hard for Deke to do, send in the stunt man, or a body double. Who's going to recognise you in those space suits anyway? I think this more than anything else blows this silly nonsence out of the water. How could we not have sent Deke to the moon, if it was just a big budget movie?

Ed
