Hello all!

I just got back from a book signing in Chicago at which Dr. Mae Jemison was signing her new bio. What a class act! She actually arrived early, sat down and started signing right away. She also made sure to take a moment to say hello and chat with each of us. We all got personalized inscriptions.

The book looks to be a quick read (less than 200 pgs), but is bound to be interesting, considering Dr. Jemison's vast array of life experiences.

I met Dr. Jemison last fall with a few students and she is more than a "class act" - she is tremendous! She gave a 40 minute talk that held some students who have trouble hearing anyone past 3 minutes.

She spoke with all of us and when some "big wigs" tried to step in, she politely told them she was busy and would talk with them later. The kids with me thought she was even greater for this.

The signing was at the Afrocentric Bookstore on State Street. I found out about it the day of, and fortunately didn't have to work! Lucky me!

The book is called "Find Where the Wind Goes" and I believe it was just released. Should be in stores by now.
