In the summer of 1976 I saw the Apollo-Soyuz from my home in Marlboro, Connecticut. It looked so large to my young eyes. I have spent the last 24 years of my life trying to prove this to family and friends. Can anyone help me? This is very important to me. P.S. This was a night time sighting. |

Well...this is very off topic :)...if you saw it, you saw it! You can see *any* satellite circling the earth. Most with just the naked eye too. www.heavens-above.com is the best site; just find your city, and go! Good luck! ------------------ ______ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ -Ben "'Time was invented to keep everything from happening at the same time. If it was Apollo-Soyuz that you saw it had to be the summer before 1976. It actually flew from July 15-July 24, 1975. Tom |

This post gave me fond memories of the night I sat outside in my backyard to watch Skylab pass overhead. It was very exciting for me as I was a boy and had watched some of the Apollo missions on tv. When I watched October Sky where the young man watches Sputnik pass overhead, I thought back to that evening. Did I see Skylab? No...but I saw it a few times later (I was even worried it would crash on my house). |
