My almost-4-year-old is almost as crazy about space stuff as I am, so we wanted to buy him a kid's bed with some sort of space theme. We've been looking for one shaped like a rocket or shuttle (and that's available in the U.S.), but we've been surprised at the options we can find via Google. Several places offer this shuttle bed, but at $2500+ is a bit steep - and it won't fit in his room. Does anyone have suggestions for where else we might look? |

If you can't find anything both affordable and suitable, maybe just get some rocket bed sheets and peruse the "You might be a space geek if ..." thread for ideas on room decor, lighting, bathrooms, wrapping paper, wedding cakes (ok, this may be getting ahead of things). |

In lieu of pre-made options, we decided to build this shuttle bed ourselves. It looks cool and definitely fits the budget. When it's finished, I'll try to post some pictures. | |
