Did the Gemini 7 crew spend two weeks in a closed tiny space together as practice before they suffered through it in space?

Considering Michael Collins’ comment in his memoir that was something along the lines of “the most highly motivated person in the world would go out of their minds” if placed in Gemini capsule in 1-G for several days, I am going to say no - this wasn’t even considered.
The comment was meant to highlight how small Gemini was, and that long simulator sessions were even uncomfortable. A slight bit of comfort was given in zero-g because one could remove the seat straps and let ones butt float freely and that made it slightly more bearable as a home in space for a few days.
Bottom line, I would say the Astronauts would have called such a notion “cruel and unusual punishment.”

Thanks for that. Seems a gamble to send them up to "see what happens" though I appreciate that the purpose of Mercury and Gemini was just that.

According to Borman's oral history over in the NASA archives/website the idea of a 14 day 1 g sim was raised by the medics but vetoed by the crew.
