How frequently did the crews go back into the docked command module during the Skylab missions? Was the hatch between the CM and Orbital Workshop kept open or closed?

Did any of the crew members ever sleep aboard the CM? Was it ever used as an “extra room”?

This is recollection on my part, but I believe the first crew slept in the docked CM for the first few days, until the temperature in the workshop cooled down a bit. I do not know how many days that might have been.

I do not recall anything about the second or third crews.

It was kept open and a duct was brought into exchange air. The CSM was not shut down during the docked phase. The fuel cells kept supplying power to the cluster until their reactants ran out. The clusters air to ground voice communications were routed through the CSM systems and antennas.

All times are CT (US)
