As you probably know, Alan Bean tried to take a photo of both himself and Pete Conrad on the moon, but the little timer needed for the camera to take that selfie got lost in a bag of lunar samples. On other missions, a 16 mm movie camera took shots of both moonwalkers. The most famous is from Apollo 11, but there is also a decent one from Apollo 14. Can anyone point out particularly good examples from other missions? |

I guess it depends on your definition of photos. While clearly not photos per se, there were plenty of TV images of both astronauts on Apollos 15 through 17 courtesy of the LRV. |

I think the most famous lunar surface photo of two astronauts is Neil Armstrong's photo of Buzz Aldrin, with Neil reflected in the visor. |

I was just wondering about frames taken by the 16 mm camera that happened to show both moonwalkers clearly (in frame, focused, and well-lit). The two examples above were good enough to be released by NASA as photographs, and I was wondering if there were others. |

It's a shame Conrad and Bean couldn't find that Hasselblad timer inside the sample bag. Unbelievably, those two pranksters even considered wearing huge beenie hat props on the Moon, but it never got past the joking stage. |
