Where are all the Mercury, Gemini, Apollo, Skylab and Apollo/Soyuz capsules on display? I know the Gemini 8 capsule is at the Neil Armstrong Air and Space Museum. There is at least one Apollo capsule at the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum and there are a couple on display at Kennedy Space center. But where are the rest?Mark |

Thanks. I had no idea it was going to be that easy an answer. Mark |

Yeah, that's a great website! I think it's pretty up-to-date, too...You may also be interested in where other (non-American) spacecraft are, and other artifacts on display...I have a growing site covering that called Museum of Space Travel. http://www.museumofspacetravel.com |

It seems absolutely ridiculous that not one single flown Apollo spacecraft is on display at KSC. |

Apollo 14's command module Kitty Hawk is on display at the Astronaut Hall of Fame, which is part of the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex... |

Since they moved out the ASTP CM, there isn't anything flown on display. However, the AHOF is now part of Delaware North and you can get in there with your KSC pass to see the Apollo 14 CM. It's just down the road a bit. The memorabilia on display is pretty incredible. However, the Shepard jockstrap that is pictured in The Real Space Cowboys must be locked up in the vault. Gemini 9 was there the last time I visited, and according to the Field Guide, it's still there. It's in one of the buildings off of the rocket garden ("Early Exploration" building, as I recall). |

Thanks for the clarification, Robert, although - strictly speaking - I was referring to the KSC Visitors' Center. Still, if I make it to Florida this year to see a shuttle launch, Kitty Hawk will be another good reason to visit the Astronaut Hall of Fame. By the way, as I type this I am glancing at a photo of a rather younger version of myself almost leaning against the open hatch of "Odyssey" at KSC in July, 1975. I even got the chance to insert the upper half of my body inside the Apollo 13 capsule. I remember that any time I watch the Tom Hanks film! |

What was the reason of removing the interior of the Apollo 13 capsule and place it in a boilerplate ??? |
