Hello y'all.

Kris Stoever posted an announcement some days ago about my Project Mercury wiki website at: http://www.mercuryspacecraft.com/wiki/Main_Page

Since another friend who comes here frequently told me he saw it, I came here for a look around.

I'm impressed by the level of knowledge and discourse here, so I've just registered myself. I'd also love for those with an interest in Project Mercury to take advantage of my site, which I'm trying to make a world-class information source on Mercury. I'd also encourage folks to participate by contributing to the site as well. It's built using the mediawiki software that powers the wikipedia.

So make corrections, or make comments on the discussion page attached to each article.

This site started as a way for me to collect my research on the history of the project. While I'm primarily interested in the technology, I'm also deeply interested in personalities, odd trivia, or anything else related to the program.

The research might eventually lead to a book, if I can convince myself to overcome my tend to procrastinate.

Now for some specific questions:

I'm gradually working my way back through old posts here. I was very interested in Rob Conley's post about the availability of SEDR-109 for MA-6
http://collectspace.com/ubb/Forum29/HTML/000490.html

Unfortunately when I download this, it seems to be coming down as an empty file. Does anyone have a copy that I can get.

I'm also desperately looking for the missing editions of SEDR-104 (between the initial 1959 edition, and the February 1962 edition), as well as more of the spacecraft specific configuration manuals (I've got only the original April 1959 original overall spacecraft specification, and configuration specifications for SC-2 and SC-15A).

The available on-line editions of SEDR-104 cover certain points in time, and each has it's own subset of spacecraft covered. I'm trying to get as clear a picture of the evolution of the spacecraft design as I can.

That's funny, it just worked for me... I used the Amsterdam mirror site, if that makes a difference.

Now that I've downloaded it, I could e-mail it to you if that would be helpful.

Hmmmm, I'm not getting a choice of mirror sites.

It would be great if you would email it to me, my email address is in my profile.

Thanks.

A very warm welcome to the discussion boards here at cS, Rick. I look forward to learning a lot from your posts.

I'm especially envious of your technical and systems knowledge. Plus, of course, you're what the DP would call "a nice fellow." Or a "good egg."
