Sometime ago someone enquired about when the acronymn for the Apollo Lunar Excursion Module (LEM) changed to Lunar Module (LM).Not sure if we bottomed this question at the time - apologies if we did - but the change was in a memo on 12th May 1966 from NASA Office of Manned Space Flifght (OMSF) to Kennedy Space Center (KSC),Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) and Manned Spacecraft Center (MSC). This was on recommendation of Robert C. Seamans Jnr.,George E. Meuller and Julian Scheer. At same time the Saturn IB was redesignated to "Uprated Saturn I". Phill Parker spaceuk
