I watched my dvd of Apollo 10 and noticed that cernan had a patch of chromel-R on the back of his spacesuit and Stafford didn t was there any reason for this?

Hi from a few miles away Mark (currently in Hilversum),

I believe that has to do with wearing the PLSS, maybe to prevent the back of the suit from being damaged by the backpack. Don't know why Stafford's suit didn't have it.
