I am looking for advice on selling Charles Bolden's STS-45 used/flown fish line glasses. Would anyone know the approximate value and could help point me to the best auction house? |

His eBay listing provides the answer. A pair of men's tinted-colored, metal-rimmed nose piece glasses with fish line earpieces. This was worn during the space flight mission as well as on reentry. There are many known photos available of him wearing these glasses during the mission; one such color photo, 7" x 5", is included with the lot. Fine, worn condition. The leather eye glass case is signed and inscribed "Experimental "Fish Line" eyeglasses worn by Dr. Kathy Sullivan, Dave Leestma and me on STS-45 (Atlantis) Atlas-1. CF Bolden Jr CDR STS-45" Comes with 5.5" x 4" personal Marine stationary signed and inscribed "1/8/2022 Ryan- Enjoy the "Fish Line" glasses I wore during STS-45 as we evaluated them for NASA flight Medine. Looks like both of the arms are broken off. Not quite "fine" condition... As for selling, Lunar Legacies is probably the right venue for this. Don has sold several pairs of flown shuttle eyeglasses. Don't quote me on this, but I think the last pair sold for a few hundred. |

I suspect the "fish-line" description means you attach the 'earpieces' to the main spectacles with a fine thread/wire/fishline. If so, the arms aren't broken because they don't actually exist. But I might be wrong, this is just a guess. |
