I will appreciate any opinions on this cover signed by Neil Armstrong? Is it authentic? Is there anything special about the cover? Thanks. |

The signed cover denotes a support tracking ship, the USNS Vanguard, used during the Apollo 12 mission (envelope postmarked on recovery date). I don't have an opinion on the signature. |

Thanks. I haven't found a similar cover and trying to figure out whether it is common or has some value. |

I will not opine on this particular signature. However, whenever I see space autographs coming out of Germany, my radar goes up. I'm sure there are plenty of good autographs coming out of Germany, I have seen sellers from Germany with 5-5 crew signed Apollo 11 covers, all signed in the exact same style. If they are not good then they are pretty good forgeries, but the entire package does not pass the smell test for me. Your mileage may vary. |

Disclaimer: I'm an amateur. My two cents: The red ink is particular curious. My experience has been that red ink signatures fade pretty quickly and reliably-- and I've avoided them over the years. To me, it seems like the red ink is way too fresh for 1969 cover. (But again, what do I know? I'm not sure.) |
