I'm starting to sell off most of my various collections, after watching my wife throw away $50-75k of rare items from her mother's estate. I can only imagine what she's going to do with my collections of artifacts from various fields I've assembled over the last 40 years. I have one of the 20 LGB 10k gold pins that were given to the ground crew for John Glenn's Friendship 7 mission. I don't believe any of these pins were flown, but I have a nice letter from the gentleman who this pin was given to. He helped design and worked on the cryo/environmental cabin hardware for Mercury, Gemini, Apollo, LM and shuttle programs. Someone wants to buy it from me, I have no idea what a fair value is and I'd appreciate any input. Thanks. |

As one data point, Goldberg Auctioneers sold one of these pins in 2011 for $800. |

Thanks Robert. I may have to put this up for auction considering the interest it has brought in the short time it's been posted. | |
