I thought I would pass along that nine space shuttle tires have turned up for auction on the GSA Auctions site. What's even more interesting is at least two of them are mounted on shuttle wheels and several others are on some sort of rim. They're being auctioned out from Langley Research Center.
There's about two days left in bidding.

More information on the tires from GSA, I found all the listings by searching for "Shuttle Tire".
These tires were purchased for testing of the Shuttle landing gear at NASA Langley. A few of the tires were not used. One tire shows obvious wear. The remainder are either in very good condition or show minor scuffing. Two tires are mounted on rims. Tires would be excellent for teaching about runway friction, highway grooving, tire testing, and Shuttle testing. Information on the testing program and photos are available at: Landing Loads Facility

Just type in shuttle under the search function. Only see two of them and I think bidding maybe ended.

It looks like they've terminated the bidding on all of them. Hopefully they've found a good home for them.
