The inscription on this photo (AstronautArchives.com, AP14 168) indicates that it was taken on launch day. It does not look like a launch day photo to me. Edgar Mitchell fully suited on the Apollo 14 launch day NASA glossy. Mitchell added "Launch Day! Ready for the Moon!" |

It's not, the LEVA would be safely stowed in the LM on the pad on launch day.I think all the Apollo astronauts can be forgiven for the occasional slip given their ages and the mountains of photos pressed under their noses. |

Haha, I must look at images the same way as I read, I only got as far down as the top of his head before I replied, didn't notice the rest! I'm guessing it's a training shot rather than a suit fit, he has a watch and checklist. | |
