I was surprised to see a recent eBay listing for a SpaceX M1D Merlin engine circuit board. Appears that it was ended early today (Oct. 4th).

I would not have guessed that something like this would be listed for sale.

Appears that this item is back up for sale: 224647755645.

Just wondering is this something that can be owned legally at this point in time?

It all comes down to how it was obtained. If it was pulled out of a garbage dump or recycling center, or if it was given to an employee to keep, then it is legal. If it was taken home without permission or otherwise acquired without SpaceX's approval, then not so much.

Was the auction canceled, again?

The original listing was ended early by the seller (as evident by the closed listing still being visible). This time, it appears the auction was pulled off eBay, which could mean SpaceX stepped in.

Interesting. I heard it was found in a scrapyard, about five years ago...
