I'm looking to purchase scale models of the Saturn V and command modules, however, I'm looking to find ones under $50.
Where could you recommend that I look? They would need a base in case I meet an Apollo astronaut one day who can sign it for me. Thanks.

I'm afraid that anything under $50 is going to be a flimsy plastic toy.
The reasonably accurate models (with bases) that I bought to be signed by astronauts at an event several years ago were at least $100, and probably closer to $200.

What about the Dragon diecast CSM? In 1/72 scale they are kicking around for sub-$50. They make for a pretty nice display and they have a base suitable for signing.
Boggs Space is offering the 1/48 scale diecast CSM for $59.95.

I don't think you could ship to South Africa for much less than $50. I have a 12" model that was part of a desktop display from the Alabama Space and Rocket Center that sits on a 4 1/2" X 3 1/2 wooden base that has a pen holder on the base without the pen.
