I know I ask for a lot of advice here, but you guys have been invaluable.

This is a bit... odder than my previous questions.

I recently purchased a second hand copy of Chris Kraft's "Flight" from an online seller. I noticed some binding damage around the front free endpaper (FFEP), with a line of glue visible on the inside of the FFEP, which happens when it comes separated from the binding. But, I also noticed that there were no such markings on the adjacent page (in this case, the title page).

Upon closer inspection online, I found that most of the signed copies were signed on a half title page. A page that I don't have.

So my question is this: Were there any hardcover copies of "Flight" printed and sold without a half-title or is my copy missing a page?

Mike, occasionally books are mis-bound with a missing signature or two. A signature is a group of pages printed together then folded over to be bound in the book. And I just realized that this explanation is going to get waaaaaayyyyy too long for this post, so I suggest that if you have any interest in book-binding processes, visit Google when you get a chance.

Bottom line, if your book was a printing error, it would be missing more than one page. I'd give you 10 to 1 odds that somebody, somewhere, has a cut signature of Kraft's that came from your missing page.

My guess is that the page simply fell out. The binding on that portion of the book is quite warn, which is what drew my attention to it in the first place.

I had asked because I was wondering if it was an edition thing; I didn't want to be premature in calling it flawed.

But after looking at it for a while, I bought a new copy. I'm currently selling this one, by the way.
