Apparently a Sieger lunar surface flown Apollo 15 cover is being sold on eBay by the state of Texas's unclaimed property division. Can you believe this was abandoned in some safe deposit box?eBay seller is tx.unclaimed.property. Runs for a couple more days. What are these going for? $25k or something? |

It's gone up from $1500 to $1700 in the few minutes since it was posted here! |

$25K seems a bit high to me. A similar Antarctic-stamped Apollo 15 cover (but hand corrected to read "...of 400" in the upper left) sold at the recent Bonhams auction in April for $7,500.See The Flown Apollo 15 Sieger Covers for a description of the cover varieties and the prices paid at auction for all known examples on the market. Add this example in a few days with the notation 'Sold by State of Texas,' which may be a first! |

This is not one of the 100 Sieger covers but one of the NASA series that got confiscated, it was not sold by Sieger back then. |

Cover just sold for $6,766.00 with 84 bidders. Good bargain for this type of moon-flown item. I wonder if it went to a cS member? |
