Does anyone know the history of the SpaceX patch currently on eBay for $48,000? Is it that rare? as in unique?Apparently it contains a portion of a Dragon parachute. There are Al Bean paintings with moondust cheaper than that. Has anyone seen or heard of a more expensive patch? |

There are flown Apollo 11 artifacts that have sold for less than that. |

This SpaceX item started out at $4,995.51 just over a month ago. It is only this week the seller raised the Buy It Now price to $48,000. I thought $4,995.51 was bad enough! |

Let's not get ahead of ourselves, it may be that he has made a decimal point error on his listing price and not noticed... I hope. O.o |

I came across this listing 331143293117 for a SpaceX-issued patch that is composed of a flown parachute swatch. I'd never heard of such a patch being offered before. The description reads: The limited-edition mission patch commemorates the Commercial Orbital Transportation Services (COTS) mission (C2+), May 22-31, 2012, when SpaceX's Dragon became the first privately developed spacecraft to attach to the International Space Station. This custom patch contains a portion of one of the three parachutes that brought Dragon safety back to earth at the end of that historic mission. A pretty cool piece, but priced way too high!Editor's note: Threads merged. |

The seller has dropped the Buy It Now price down from $4,800.00 to $1,500.00, and has added a 'Best Offer' option. Sold with Best Offer of $800.00. |
