So a bit of the back story here... I was in the 4th grade in 1994 when I did a "famous person report." I adored Neil Armstrong so I indulged and went 110%. I sent him an adoring letter from myself and about one month later I got this picture back. Fast forward to now, I am trying to downsize my life and become more minimal... I wanted to see if you all thought this was an autopen or autograph. I've seen both around that time and could not really tell; I want to get it certified if you guys deem this 'real' It's been in that frame since the day it arrived at my house. Anyway, thanks for checking out my first post, I have enjoyed reading many different threads on this forum in the past.

Unfortunately, this is one of the later autopens of Armstrong, I am sorry to say. Did you write to him in Ohio (was it in 1994 that you got this photo of him)? |

No worries at all. Never knew it could ever even be worth anything until about six months ago when my wife started making me clean out my collections aka "junk." Should I even bother selling it or just pass it along free on Craigslist? Honestly I can't remember where I wrote too, I know I grabbed the address out of a book about Mr. Armstrong. |

I'd save it [for your future? children], since it's a memento of your childhood and will be worth more to them than you could possibly sell it for...If you want to move it along, perhaps donate it to a school/science/history teacher? There, it would be appreciated. |

Of all the Armstrong autopens examples out there, this one is (in my opinion) the most attractive by a long mile. It's worth reasonable money (unframed, as much as $75+ or more on eBay) so I wouldn't be giving this away. |
