I am new here and was hoping to get some information. I recently met someone who owns one of the Apollo 16 charms and he told me he ordered it from moonpans.com. I have a friend who would love this and I was going to purchase it for her birthday.

It is now priced at $1200, the man I spoke to said he paid under $1000 (don't remember the exact price). The question I had is do you think it is worth this much? I know the Robbins Medallion's can sell for thousands but this is not that (obviously).

I have one the Apollo 16 medallions without the attachment loop at the top the medal. This was the 1st of two sets of medallions that Mike-Moonpans was selling. I purchased my in Sept 2009 for the price of $995. The increase in price reflects the supply and demand I would guess.

The charms are slightly different than what was offered at $995. I purchased one several years ago from Mike at Moonpans and highly recommend that item ... if you can spend the extra $200, his framed presentation is quite nice! Mike is a terrific guy to deal with too!!

Like Gary said, supply vs demand. People will pay it. You just have to decide whether its worth it to you.

The charm is on the small size for a flown item, but is attractive, won't have preservation issues, has good provenance, and is 1/2 to 1/200 the cost of other flown items. The Moonpans presentations look great and are from a reputable dealer.

Thanks for all your comments, the charms are great little flown items.

Just a quick update on them, there are only 2 left from the 15, so if you are thinking of getting one they will be sold out soon. Thanks.

As I stated: Supply & Demand. Don't regret not buying.

Very nice looking item, the presentation looks great for the extra $200. I've purchased several items from Moonpans and have always been satisfied.
