Amazing how some collectors don't check the autopen patterns... |

And amazing how many (over) paid authenticators (PSA/DNA again in this case) don't check autopen patterns. It's not hard, just takes being competent and concerned about doing the job they are paid for and that collectors expect. Is this a rare case of PSA/DNA making an obvious mistake with astronaut autographs? Nope, just another. |

Very true Bob. A paid authenticator should be able to ID autopens, when that pattern is well known and readily available for comparison. If they can't do that most simple of tasks, what good are they? But very little surprises me about PSA/DNA authentications anymore. I sometimes wonder exactly how long they "study" each item given to them for review. |

I think that they work in such high volume that they don't have/take time to really check things out like they should and are paid to do. They have a long and notorious history of really bad mistakes with astronaut autographs and there really is no excuse for making mistakes with autopens. If they OK autopens, then how are they doing with today's more skillfully done forgeries?! Scary. |

I contacted the seller about this item 2 days ago, and received a reply that the auction has been cancelled.PSA/DNA, for space at least, is a bad joke that keeps getting re-told. Oh well. |

Also just heard from the seller he's ending the auction. At least a good sign from an honest seller who was probably fooled by PSA/DNA as well! |
