I bought this print at a 2010 auction where it was listed as hand-signed and originating form the San Diego Air and Space Museum. It has just been returned by another auction house on the grounds that the signatures are printed. It's hard to tell, but I think they ARE printed. My question: has anyone seen another other versions of this print, signed or unsigned, authentic or printed, before I seek a refund? |

Paul: I have one of these items as well and it is 100% genuine, personally signed by all three. So unless yours is somehow a print taken off an original it is the real deal. I checked my Borman signature against the one you supplied and they are slightly different and in slightly different places around the (printed) artist's signature. The artist's actual signature (in pencil) looks the same as mine, although mine is marked as 19 of 50. Both the Lovell and Anders are also a little different to those on your poster. Contact me off-forum if you wish and we can compare hi-res scans of all three signatures. But for me, the item you have is quite genuine. |

Paul - If I may ask, which auction house rejected this item? |

It was Heritage, Mark. Colin, thanks for your verification. It was also confirmed as good by another renowned collector. I'll send a magnifying glass next time I consign!

That's some very nice artwork. The Borman image especially is not just a great likeness but portrays a serious and thoughtful person - appropos of the mission commander. |
