I have noticed three Apollo 16 crew signed lithos for sale on eBay as well as one in the recent Lunar Legacies auction. The signatures all look fine, no doubt on my part there, however all of them are signed in a similar manner. I was wondering if the crew signed these at one time at a special signing. The Mattingly and Duke are in a lt blue pen and the Young is in a dark blue pen. The inscriptions all appear to have been written by Young and are in the same pen he signed with. The eBay numbers are 170720293232, 300696494311, and 130715359531. |

One of the three above is just a resale from the last Regency sale but the Lunar Legacies example does make it 4 lithos that indeed appear to have been signed in one session.I imagine the crew sat down at some stage after the mission and just signed a pile of lithos adding personalizations to friends and colleagues from the program. As you say they all look to be nice authentically signed pieces. I would say that the example sold at Regency was about in line with going rates for Apollo 16 crew ISPs, although the three examples on eBay now all seem to be looking for twice that. | |
