A few years ago I sent out for a Gene Kranz autograph. A few weeks later he sent back a few signed flat objects (papers, photos, etc), but he also sent back two mission patches: STS-120 and STS-122.

Does anyone have any clue as to why he sent them? Does he have any connection to STS-120 and STS-122?

I have found in my many years of space autograph collecting, a person who knows of your interest just by your request will send items which have no relation to the person.
