So what does everyone think of this model. On a close look it is the Revell/Monogram plastic model on a wood stand. Photos show Buzz and Collins signing it at Spacefest 2009 but when would Armstrong have signed it I wonder? At $5,000 I hope it is a good signature. |

Looks okay, but why no photo of Neil Armstrong signing it I wonder? |

Well I imagine Neil would have had to of signed it at least 20 years ago (since he hasn't signed in almost 20) and whoever got it signed simply mailed it to him. So I doubt the occasion to photograph him signing it was possible but it doesn't mean there's anything wrong with it. I thought it was a very nice, unique item and if I had a bunch of money I'd have no problem dropping $5000 on it. |

Looks like the first buyer did not come through with their $5,000 as this signed model is back with a sale price of $3.999! |

Whats unusual about this is that the bidder of the first auction left positive feedback for the seller so on the surface it appears the auction went through. However, while you cant see the identity of the current bidder the feedback totals for both the prior and current bidders match exactly, so it is the same bidder this time around too. I would assume ebay would have charged a couple of hundred dollars in fees for the first auction. If the sale wasnt finalized, how come the positive feedback? If it was finalized, how come the same buyer is bidding again? Something isnt right here, but I do like the piece.

It is a strange deal. Here is my eBay messages asking him about the last model: Is this the same model that sold for $5,000 last month or a second one? Thanks.Hello, I never sold this model, it is still in my safe. Actually 4000 dollars is below my cost. Just Neil's signature sells over 2500, Collins was around 800, and obviously the "crew" completion by Buzz was over 1200. OK, it was just that the last time this was on eBay it had sold with one bid of $5000. That is possible. I can't figure out that last response. Go figure. Also, there was a bidder at $3,999 but now the auction is closed, 0 bids and a Buy It Now for $6000. Very strange. |

I've had some communications with the seller as well, but this one is tough to figure out. I'm sure he owns the model and trust the way the signatures were obtained, however, a prior "closed" eBay auction of this seller shows a questionable Apollo 11 crew cover for 5K and a current auction for a questionable Buzz Aldrin which he indicated was obtained at Spacefest. If it's authentic, it's very atypical.I think the past winner of the model is, or was, a collectSPACE member. The same person was also the current high bidder until the auction was put back to zero earlier today. If I was interested at one point, all the uncertainties are a good reason to avoid this one. |

I noticed that Aldrin litho without realizing it was from the same seller as the model, and the signature is so atypical that I did a Google Images search to see if the seller had pulled the accompanying photo of Aldrin at Spacefest 2009 from some other source. |

I think this might be legitimate. The seller put a Q&A below the description and listed his phone number. I don't know if you saw it, but, here it is: Q: Looking at your feedback it appears that you already sold this item to a satisfied bidder. Did you have two of these?A: No, I did not sell this, or as a matter of fact, to nobody. It is exactly the same as it was. May be the confusion on my part, because I am just learning how to sell on eBay. So far in the past 16 years I was only, collecting. As far as your comment concerns the amount of sold items, is probably true, I still have a large number to sell. I am a very honest, and reputable person, and I am fortunate to have all the living astronauts as my friends, so is many auction houses, or companies. I am 67 years old and getting out of the collecting, due to a stroke. Any more questions call Tom at 480-330-9517 |

He also has a crew-signed copy of First On The Moon for sale. I wish I had that one on my shelf. It will be interesting to see what else this seller lists in the future. |

There's just something about this seller that bugs me. We emailed back and forth several times about the Apollo 11 model, but couldn't come to terms. An Apollo 11 cover he "sold" for 5K looked very suspicious and an "in person" Aldrin was quite crude. Even the Neil Armstrong on this book looks a little shaky. And why is the scan upside down? When the model "sold" on eBay the first time there was positive feedback left and no retractions. Didn't he have to pay eBay fees? And he mentioned in a previous email he is friends with all of the astronauts... so why the Novaspace signings? |

I'm less than comfortable with the Armstrong in the book. I think I remember seeing it before the book got "completed". |
