There's something about that one that I just don't like. While at first glance, it looks like it could be good, when the image is blown up, I detect what seems to be a bit of shakiness/waviness to the lines, almost as if it is a trace job. Personally, I would stay away from it. |

Agreed. Shape is close. How the strokes are done is not. |

I will take the opposite position on this item. I believe that it is likely authentic. The signature has some speed to it, which can be seen by the changing shades of the ink. Where the pen slows down (or the pen changes direction), the ink darkens. Where the pen is moving fast, the ink is lighter. A tracing job wouldn't show these characteristics nearly as well...or you would see darkening in the wrong areas, as the forger hesitated slightly. (Also, I think the low quality of the scan makes some of the smoother lines appear to be more "shaky" or jagged than they really are.) Additionally, there are some subtle tells in the certain letters that indicates this is most likely an authentic signature. By no means is this a perfect signature...as there are atypical traits too. But most of those atypical traits can be explained by the circumstance under which it was likely signed. Having said that, I would personally want to see a larger scan of this item before I invested in it. |

I agree with mjanovec. This looks very much like a "hurried" example I obtained in person. |
