I recently found this sign at a flea market in Central Florida it came from Titusville Fl and definitely original made from aviation grade aluminum and has a zinc chromate undercoating. The sign says SKYLAB 2 and measures 17"x80". Anyone have an idea where it was used or maybe even an original photo of it? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Does it refer to the first manned mission, or the second?

I have a photo I took at the 1976 Bicentennial celebration at Kennedy Space Center. Mobile Launcher 2 was available for close inspection at that event. On the side of the base of MLP-2 were signs signifying each of the launches off of that platform. These signs look exactly like the Skylab 2 one you show. Only problem is that Skylab 1 was the only Skylab to launch off MLP-2. I suppose there is a chance this sign was once posted on MLP-1?

Hmmm interesting, Jay are you able to upload that photo you took? I would just like to see the similarities of the signs. You would think that if they signified the different launches on MLP-2 they would have done the same on MLP-1. I tried to look up closer detailed pictures of the pads but everyone I find is a wide shot.

Thats great! Now another question to ask everyone out there. When do you think they put the signs on the pads?

I think that "sign find" qualifies as one of the coolest/kewlest garage sale finds of the the decade!

Congratulations!
