There's an odd looking Neil Armstrong autograph on UK ebay, item 220121940925. The sellers are also listing The Beatles, Frank Sinatra, John Wayne, Harry Houdini and Marilyn Monroe autographs, among others! I can't judge the others, but am I right that the Neil Armstrong doesn't look good? If so, I'll e-mail them and see what response I get.

I took a look and clicked on "View Seller's Other Items", but eBay said there were no others. You are right that a seller offering only the creme de la creme is a big warning sign. This seller has 0 previous sales, apparently had several hard-to-get expensive autographs up at some point, the Armstrong autograph looks slightly terrible... and they had on the listing some tips for buying autographs on eBay! They include:

1. BE AWARE OF SPELLING MISTAKES SUCH AS NAMES SPELLED INCORRECTLY.

2. BE AWARE OF THE TYPE OF PAPER OR WAY THE ITEM HAS BEEN PRINTED,YOU WOULDN'T EXPECT JOHN WAYNE'S SIGNATURE TO APPEAR ON A LASER PRINTED PHOTO,BUT BELIEVE US IT HAS HAPPENED !!

3. BE AWARE THAT THE ITEM IS NOT A RE-PRINT,MANY AUCTION SITE ITEMS ARE JUST THIS,LOOK VERY CLOSELY AT THE DESCRIPTIONS.

This guy's back again with two more Neil Armstrong autographs. One of his current offerings is ebay item 140134059004 .

In the past few months he's sold four Beatles, two Neil Armstrong, three of Elvis Presley, an Errol Flynn and a Judy Garland. He currently has on offer a further Elvis Presley, two more of the Beatles and another Errol Flynn. And look at the prices he's achieved.
