Thought you may be interested to see the latest prices in England!

Sportizus are offering a framed Apollo 11 signed crew picture (dedicated by Armstrong)
for the princely sum of $9750.

An Aldrin Visor 8x10 (in a somewhat tardy frame)"we came in peace etc" for an eye watering $3250!

I believe I am correct in saying they recently sold an standard Aldrin visor, dedicated, for nearly $1100...

They are entitled to charge whatever they want and people ARE buying at these prices.

If you think that is crazy (and they're known for it) check this out:

Bought for $2107 at R&R
On sale for over $20,000 (!)

on the buyer's website. And they even lifted the description word-for-word! That has to be mark-up of the century. Check out some of their other bargains, like $480 for Charlie Duke.

There really is something very odd about how here in the UK autograph dealers charge such high prices.

It seems illogical that these prices are all "try-ons" and that they must sell at least some items to cover their costs and make a profit.

Maybe there are just some very naive buyers here in the UK, or maybe all of us just under-price and under-value our collections and wares!

I'm a great believer in that we live in a free society and can offer an item for whatever price we wish, just there does seem something that doesnt add up about putting a x10 mark-up on items that are worth about the originally paid price.

I may be wrong (and if so unreservedly apologise) but I thought Sportizus were connected to Autografica? If so then they do know the real market prices and if so, are knowingly profiteering to an extent that goes past what is fair and reasonable.

Doesn't seem odd to me- isn't that what business is about when you're a dealer?
I expect these prices to stay 20-30% ahead of the auction market. Look for even stronger prices as the years go on.
I feel sorry for anyone that is just starting his/her collection today.

Well, clealry they're not the same piece. According to the descriptions, the R&R piece was to "Paul Riva" and the Fraser's piece is to "Paula Riva". That should explain it all!

Hi Guys!
I don't think being in the UK has anything to do with it! Some people are just in the habit of charging inflated prices....
I, and several other UK dealers, can compete with ANYONE in the World on price! And don't forget: some of the people you've highlighted have high overheads in shop rents / community charge / tax etc etc., Living an d trading in the UK is EXPENSIVE! Trust me! LOL!
